ADDITIONAL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES ADDED FOR SUMMER
SOLD-OUT FIVE-WEEK EUROPEAN TOUR EARNS RAVES
Bruce Springsteen has announced additional North American solo tour dates for this summer. The dates will follow Springsteen's tour of Europe, which instantly sold out and wraps up June 28 in Berlin.
Springsteen's new album, 'Devils & Dust' (Columbia Records), topped the pan-European charts for three weeks. 'Devils & Dust' has been certified Platinum in two countries and Gold in an additional eight countries.
The new album debuted at number one in nine European countries, earning incredible reviews in the European press. Of 'Devils & Dust,' France's Le Figaro said, "Bruce Springsteen creates the emotion that goes straight to the heart." London's Daily Telegraph said, "Springsteen is working at a level way beyond most of his contemporaries."
Of a recent European performance, The Spanish publication El Periodico declared, "He had the audience eating out of his hand for the whole 2 hours and 20 minutes." The Spanish publication La Vanguardia said, "[He] is in an unbelievable form. The rocker continues to be an authentic stage animal."
'Devils & Dust' entered Billboard's U.S. Top 200 albums chart at the top spot, receiving extremely enthusiastic reviews. Rolling Stone wrote, "'Devils and Dust' sparkles in the right places like stars in a clear Plains sky." The Wall Street Journal raved, "[Devils & Dust is] a vivid and perceptive work fashioned by a master craftsman, one whose greatness is best revealed in whispers and searing asides."
Springsteen toured the U.S. in the spring, netting excellent reviews for his first solo tour since the 1995-1996 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' tour. Of Springsteen's Los Angeles performance, Daily Variety wrote, "On a night that can be described as nothing short of magical, his solo show was a dream come true... nearly every moment in the 2 1/2-hour show resonated with truth." The Arizona Republic called a recent concert "a brisk, masterful performance that kept the well-mannered audience mesmerized with the best storytelling songs in rock music today... [He] seems to get more talented as the decades pass."
