We were thrilled to read comparisons of Lambchop's Kurt Wagner to such greats as Curtis Mayfield and Lefty Frizzell in a concert review from the New York Times this week. Declaring Wagner "an American artist to the core" the paper went on to point out that the songs of Lambchop contain their own "logic, "humor" and "emotional power."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/27/arts/music/27wagn.html?ref=musicThe New York Times isn't the only publication singing the praises of Lambchop and their forthcoming album 'OH (ohio)'. The New Yorker recently spotlighted the release in their fall 2008 music preview while Stereogum premiered a track from the album "Slipped, Dissolved and Loosed" and NPR.org had Wagner perform live for their "Tiny Desk Concerts" series.
See below for even more praise:
"The Bukowski of Music Row" - PASTE
" [Wagner] looks more like a floor-fitter than a cultishly adored musician ... [but he writes] achingly pretty folk songs."
- NEW YORK MAGAZINE
"Soulful country-folk ... the lead single 'Slipped Dissolved and Loosed' is beautifully abstract." - NEW YORKER
Kurt Wagner will play additional solo dates this fall. More details to follow. In the meantime you can hear some of the new songs and get more info here:
