Mad As A Musical March HareWhen we say "March madness" around here, we're thinking music, not basketball. This month, Shore Fire clients are putting out releases – there'll be new music from The Chieftains featuring Ry Cooder, Marrow, Lay Low, Josh Rouse, Myron Walden, Gary Lucas and Dean Bowman, The Auctioneers, Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs and Smithsonian Folkways. They're also playing shows all over the world, from New York's Carnegie Hall (The Music of The Who) to SXSW in Austin, Texas (a special kind of madness of its own for A2IM, Academy of Contemporay Music, Josh Charles, Kings Go Forth, Midlake, Nathaniel Rateliff, Danny Chaimson, Gemma Ray, SoundExchange,Villagers and Wicked Cool Records) to Melbourne, Australia (the kickoff of Carole King and James Taylor's world tour). Other shows around the country include Kicking Daisies, Lay Low, Anat Cohen, Myron Walden, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Cherryholmes, Dr. John, Raul Midon, Ricky Skaggs, The Cocktail Slippers, Butch Walker and The Chieftains/Ry Cooder, as well as Zac Brown Band on CMT. Pardon the sports metaphor, but it sounds like a slam dunk of a month to us.
